Barcelona is always interested in the market and they confirm in England that the Blaugrana club is very interested in obtaining the services of one of the jewels of the Arsenal youth academy, the 19-year-old young midfielder, Charlie Patino, whose contract expires on June 30 next and this season he plays on loan in Blackpool.
Patiño, who was born in Watford to a father from Spain, has been part of the youth ranks at Arsenal since he was 12 and made his first-team debut on December 21 last year in a League Cup match against Sunderland, managing to score a goal.
Days later, he got his first minutes in the cup, and was unable to make his debut in the premiership due to injury. This season he played 15 matches for Blackpool, having scored two goals and two assists.
Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta is following him closely and hopes to renew the contract he signed in October 2020, but he knows that other clubs have shown interest in the player, including Barcelona.
Patiño, who currently plays for the England Under-20s but who has been lured by the RFEF to one day play for Spain’s first team, is a midfielder with good vision for the game, possesses a fantastic left foot and breaks lines thanks to his strength and verticality. His idols are Iniesta and Santi Cazorla.
